You are cordially invited to join Project C.U.R.E. Pack Out, every 2nd Saturday of the month for the calendar year 2009 from
10:00am to 2:00pm
10250 Westheimer, Houston, Texas 77042
A Pack-Out for Project CURE is to sort and identify medical supplies and equipment that come to the warehouse. The target audience is anyone who believes in making a difference locally and globally. We are a ministry of excess medical equipment, supplies and services to 120 countries around the world. Our mission: to identify, solicit, collect, sort and deliver medical supplies and services according to the imperative needs of the world.
As a Sorting Team Leader (or STL), we orient potential volunteers and train them as they go through the donated medical supplies and equipment. Professional nurses are welcome to spend four hours with us and may obtain continuing education hours for their service.
The time frame 10 to 2pm means anyone in the community can volunteer 4 hours, or 2 hours (i.e. 10-Noon) or whatever time they can give for that day. Volunteers can bring their lunch if they desire and some just work through the four hours with a break according to their physical well being.

General Summary of Machine Readable Passport Requirements & Processing Time
For the information of the public, the Philippine Embassy and Consulates General in the U.S. started to accept and to process applications for Machine Readable Passports (MRP) on 2 June 2008. This is in compliance with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for its member states, including the Philippines, to issue MRPs not later than 1 April 2010.
Since applications are sent to the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila via diplomatic pouch, it may take six (6) weeks for a passport to be released to the applicants, from the time the application is accepted.
While some countries may still honor valid green Philippine passports beyond 1 April 2010 as bona fide travel documents until they expire, most countries will require travelers to be holders of either machine readable passports or e-passport for their sojourn by 2010.
In this regard, all Philippine passport holders are advised to renew their Philippine passport six (6) months prior to its expiration, in accordance with ICAO regulations, and to secure their plane tickets only after they have received their new passport.
All Filipinos, including those with valid green passports, are therefore encouraged to apply for their machine readable passports as early as possible. ###end
